The Iowa Lions Eye Bank (ILEB) works closely with healthcare professionals and Hospital Donation Committees to educate on the process of donor management and promote donor awareness within hospitals.

ILEB offers a free 1 hour, .12 credit CEU Presentation on Eye, Organ and Tissue Donation to all healthcare professionals.

ILEB provides many different educational opportunities beyond CEU’s. Please contact us to discuss and customize a program that fits your educational needs.

Hospice

The Iowa Lions Eye Bank (ILEB) appreciates one’s personal choice regarding end of life care and desires to be a resource to hospice professionals across Iowa when a patient desires to be a donor. The decision to give the gift of sight after death can be life changing for a donor’s family and the recipient.

ILEB can provide different tools and materials to assist and educate hospice professionals about the process of donor management.

ILEB also offers a free 1 hour, .12 CEU credit Dignity in Donation presentation that is specialized for Hospice.

Funeral Homes

Iowa Lions Eye Bank values its partnership with the Iowa Funeral Directors Association (IFDA) and Funeral Home Professionals. Funeral Directors play a big part in the donation process. ILEB and Funeral Home Professionals work together to coordinate donation prior to embalming.

IDN

Iowa Lions Eye Bank partners with Iowa’s only Organ Procurement Organization, the Iowa Donor Network (IDN) to facilitate eye, organ, and tissue donation throughout the state of Iowa. IDN and ILEB work closely together to provide the opportunity for donation to Iowans.

Lions Clubs of Iowa

The Lions Clubs of Iowa are an integral part of the Iowa Lions Eye Bank operations. Through financial support and unwavering dedication, the Iowa Lions support ILEB in every endeavor. Volunteer Lions Transporters who participate in the Lions Transport program transport cornea tissue from the Western half of the State to the Eye Bank in Coralville almost daily.
